Well,
If you wanna play around with different BIOS revisions that's your call. I believe that TMOD's BIOS flash CD even has a few on there for the NF3 board, so you can experiment to your hearts desire.
But I'm telling you for a fact you have one or more of the following five problems;
1. Faulty cable - causing intermittent operation (or failure to operate)
2. Weak power supply, your 300W is barely adequate for the most minimal of builds
3. A hard drive that is failing
4. A grounding problem between your m/b and case
5. Overheating issue on one of your components
So taking this in the cheapest to investigate and fix order;
1. Motherboard is grounding to case - remove m/b from case, put on non-conductive surface and perform minimal hardware boot. See if you continue to experience the shutdown problem.
2. Often times an overheating problem will be eliminated once all of the gear is removed from the confines of a hot case. So you're killing two birds with one stone.
3. Faulty hard drive cable - sometimes they don't just completely quit working all at once. Sometimes they start acting flaky first.
4. Power supply - I don't care what you say, you're current power supply just isn't going to cut the mustard. Even if by chance it's working fine now, you are putting extra strain on your whole system by running an under-powered supply. And unfortunately (for you) when it goes it's probably gonna take other stuff with it. Like cpu, motherboard, memory or maybe even a video card.
